Alexandre Candellier completed his residency in Nephrology at the Amiens University Hospital from 2015 to 2020. He was trainee in home dialysis unit at the Cliniques Universitaires St-Luc, Brussels (UCL), under supervision of Professor Eric Goffin. He also took part in a 2-year exchange fellow in the home dialysis unit at the Hotel Dieu de Québec, Canada.

He is currently pursuing a PhD on the impact of renal failure on heart and valve disease.

His core research areas are renal replacement therapy with focus on peritoneal dialysis, as well as the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease. He has published several papers on these topics in international journals.
