Anabela is a doctor with hospital based clinical work since 1990. She is Consultant nephrologist at the Department of Nephrology, Head of the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit in Centro Hospitalar Universitario de Santo Antonio, with Specialization (2019) in Management and Direction of Health Services, from Porto Business School, University of Porto (UP). Since 2020 Anabela has served as President of National Commission of Dialysis (CNAD/DGS) Health Ministry. Anabela’s PhD thesis in Medical Science, addressed peritoneal transport, with R Krediet (AMC, Amesterdam University) as promotor (2007). Anabela has been an invited lecturer in International Congresses and certificated courses, with active responsibility in doctoral and pos-doctoral projects in the University of Porto. Major outputs are related with chronic kidney disease epidemiology and pathophysiology, dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and renal transplantation outcomes. Anabela promotes quality circuits in advanced CKD care. Her areas of interest, health sciences, nephrology, economic, management studies and quality management.
