Helga Gudmundsdottir, MD, PhD, is a senior consultant nephrologist and the head of the Peritoneal Dialysis Department at Oslo University Hospital/Ulleval. She received her medical degree from the University of Iceland and specialized in Nephrology and Internal Medicine at Oslo University Hospital/Ulleval.

She is the chair of the Scientific Committee of the Norwegian Society of Nephrology, planning both national meetings for nephrologist and the obligatory course on dialysis for young doctors. She is a member of PD-council and is a EuroPD ambassador
