Doctor Maria Bartosova is PostDoc at the University Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany and received PhD within the Marie Curie funded network European Training and Research in Peritoneal Dialysis (EuTRiPD) in 2018. While funded by the German Research Foundation, she described molecular structures underlying the peritoneal transport machinery. Her research has received 16 inter/national awards and she has published 28 original articles and 4 reviews. Currently she is an Olympia-Morata and Elite-Programme fellow and co-supervisor in ImprovePD consortium.
She is managing the International Peritoneal Biobank and applies innovative molecular biology methods in multi-disciplinary manner to gain insight in the molecular pathways underlying the peritoneal and cardiovascular health in (pediatric) patients with chronic kidney disease, on peritoneal dialysis and after transplantation to identify novel therapeutical targets.
