Karlien François is a dedicated nephrologist who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through high-quality care and clinical research.

Karlien leads the home dialysis program at Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel, Belgium and is co-director of the PREDICT project that aims to improve knowledge and skills for percutaneous insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters.

She also leads research projects on hemodialysis-induced thrombo-inflammation and participates in clinical trials in the field of chronic kidney disease and dialysis. Karlien teaches pathophysiology at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
